Full-time CrossFit Coach, Head of Operations
Job Summary
Service-focused CrossFit coach who is passionate about helping others and contributing to a mission of improving lives through fitness and community. Secondary role as Operations/Gym Manager who also spearheads our regular ancillary programs.
What you'll do:
- Coaching role includes leading CF group classes, Onboarding sessions for new athletes, 1-on-1’s, and small group sessions.
- You will train at CFWP, follow the class programming, and take classes as feasible.
- Undergo ongoing mentorship from the Owner/Head Coach. Your development is an important part of the role, and you will also aid in the development of part-time coaches.
- Head of Operations role includes facility management, supply/merchandise ordering, light cleaning, weekly newsletter, regular athlete communication, organization/promotion of our regular social events.
- As Head of Programs, organize and promote our existing ancillary programs (on average 1 per quarter; e.g. Barbell Club, Row Club, etc).
- This is a CAREER and includes an expected level of professionalism. This is not a clock-in/clock-out role; there will be times you will work >40 hours a week, cover for part time coaches, etc. Our full time coaches go the extra mile and this is more than a job to you.
What you'll bring:
- Experience: Must have current CF L1 or higher with an interest in achieving L2 within 12 months and L3 within 24 months. Minimum 200 hours of coaching experience over the past 3 years. Have coached people brand new to CF as well as advanced athletes. Experience with a range of 1-on-1 sessions to group settings of up to 25 athletes.
- Scheduling Flexibility: We are open all day Mon-Fri, so must have availability for all possible shifts spanning 530am-7pm on weekdays. Morning shift 530am-12pm; PM shift 12-7. Two Saturdays/month 730am-1130am. Shifts include 2-4 classes and open gyms. Full time is 15 classes/week and 40 hours/week in person.
- Personality: Competent in building relationships with folks of all ages and backgrounds. Capable at putting people at ease and creating a comfortable environment. Willing to let your personality shine while keeping your politics out of the gym. You remember names and
- Fitness/CrossFit Proficiency: Proficient in all common CF skills and a high level mover. Fitness and nutrition are a priority for you personally and you strongly believe in the CF methodology as the best option for life-long health. We don’t expect you to be THE top athlete in the gym but you would consider yourself an “Rx” type.
- Growth Mindset: Always be learning. Thirst for knowledge from strength & conditioning experts OUTSIDE of the CF realm. Have interests outside of fitness; the more topics you know about, the easier to connect with broad group of people. When presented with a problem, you try to figure it out first before asking for help.
- Business Accumen: Interest and/or experience in ways to bring CF to a wider audience than just our gym; you care about spreading the good word of fitness.
- Operations Knowledge: Knowledge/understanding of what it takes to keep a gym running.
- Mission Alignment: We are the front lines in the fight against chronic disease, and changing lives for the better is your primary goal in having this type of career!
